The club was founded in 1893 and has been on its current site in the high street grade 11 listed building since 1926 with the addition of the air-conditioned conference room and 2nd snooker hall in the 1970’s. Originally founded as a gentlemen’s club the majority of the membership voted in late 2009 to move with the times into the 21st century recognizing equality, social and economic value of allowing ladies to join the club as members. Mrs Barbra Rowley becoming the first lady member in our clubs history.

We have a well stocked bar offering lagers, Guinness and real ale as well as spirits and wines. Tea & Coffee for those who prefer.
